Most Suzuki outboards are DF models, and some DF engines are also AP versions. DF identifies Suzuki’s 4-stroke family, while AP means the engine has Suzuki Precision Control (SPC) digital fly-by-wire for smoother shifting, precise throttle, and Selective Rotation.

The DF350A features twin counter-rotating propellers that “bite” the water from opposing directions. This design increases stability, reduces steering torque, and improves acceleration—especially on heavier offshore hulls. It’s one of the most advanced propulsion systems in the 350hp class.

The break-in period is the first 20 hours.

  • First 2 hours: Operate at varied RPMs below full throttle.
  • Next 8 hours: Cruise at 3000–4000 RPM, with short full-throttle bursts.
  • Final 10 hours: Avoid running at full throttle for long periods.

Suzuki recommends full service every 100 hours or once per year, whichever comes first. A 100-hour service includes:
